Avery Volk is an actor, singer, writer, and poet from Phoenix, AZ. After spending many years in the Arizona theatre scene, she discovered a deeper passion and a higher calling when she began writing and performing poetry and, a short time later, discovered the vast world and limitless art form of solo theatre, where GIRL IN REVERSE was first born in early 2022. Since then, she has performed it in LA as part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival and the Soaring Solo STARS series mini festival. In May of 2025, the show saw its Arizona debut, which was made possible through a grant from Arizona Commission on the Arts. 

Her poetry has been published in two of the Hydration anthologies of work by local Arizona poets, in the online Journal of Expressive Writing, and in the Blackberry Peach National Federation of State poetry society's prize-winning poems anthology Encore 2026.

Her second solo show, GRIEF AND OTHER LIVING THINGS is currently in development. 

Through Avery’s art, her aim is to connect and inspire her fellow artists, to challenge the status quo, and to take up space without apology. To play. To be loud, defiant, and lean into the discomfort of the raw honesty and vulnerability of baring one’s soul upon the stage.
